Dear
Cathy;
Just a short note to thank you for coming to Westacres and telling us all about your red wiggler worms. It was a very interesting and informative presentation. The children certainly gained insight into composting and enjoyed the hands on chance to see and touch a squirm of worms.
We have set up our worm factory in the junior lunch room and our Green Team is in charge of their care and feeding. This is a great opportunity for them to take responsibility for caring for living creatures as well as learn about the value of composting to divert organic material from land fill sites.
When we opened our worm factory at lunch today to give them some tasty coffee grounds we found a small but very much alive toad in the box. I think it thought it had found a toad gourmet feast. The toad was safely released and the worms appear to be safe and sound.
Thanks again for your enthusiastic, entertaining and informative presentation. We are very glad you could come to Westacres.
Sincerely
Linda Kenny
